Some Great Ideas for Favors

Posted on Sunday 20 April 2008

Planning a wedding can be fun, stressful, but fun at the same time and one of the more interesting aspects is organizing the wedding favors. Many options now exist to fit almost any budget and even timescale if you are in a hurry. This should make things much easier for you and will be one less thing to worry about before the wedding day arrives.

One option for easy wedding favors, especially popular with the ladies is flowers. There is virtually no preparation involved in this and depending on how many guests you have you may not have to order them well in advance.

A popular choice is a red rose and as a symbol of love which is very fitting at a reception. Placing the rose on the wedding reception table where the guest are seated is a nice touch and doesn’t need to be done until the last minute.

Always a popular easy wedding favor option is candy as most people will be more than happy to have a small carton placed for them on the table. I like the idea that a number of receptions have started to use where the costly centerpiece is done away with completely. All you require to make this successful is to use a large glass bowl and fill it with all your favorite candy for the guests to enjoy.

Each wedding guest can then have a small bag or box to place their favorite candy in to eat when they like. This could be called a self service gift because all you have to do is supply the candy and something to place it in.

If you prefer not to give your guests more to eat then another option is a small picture frame and if you like, it can be used on the day as placeholders. Where possible, try to find a way around wrapping wedding favors, especially the likes of picture frames which could take a considerable amount of time, not to mention the cost. By using the picture frames as placeholders provides a way around this, making it a gift that does not need to be wrapped.

An easy wedding favor that might appeal is to have the photographer take a digital picture of each guest and then present it to them at the wedding reception as they arrive. So to make sure each guest leaves with their photo, the photographer could take along a fast digital printer then they could be printed out whilst the guests are enjoying the reception. As everyone will be looking at their best this is a wedding favor they will really enjoy; seeing themselves this way in a professional photo. It would also be nice if the photographer could bring along a digital projector so all the photos he had taken of the guests could then be shown on a screen during the reception meal.
